About the desk

Devpipeline Base is a Bangkok practice built around one craft: comparing institutional and retail sentiment before the market confirms the story.

Why we exist

Markets speak in prices. Positioning speaks earlier — and often differently — depending on whether you listen to institutional desks or retail accounts. Devpipeline Base was formed in Bangkok to make that comparison a deliberate piece of work, not a footnote buried in a broader research pack.

Origin

The practice began when several analysts who had spent years reading Asian equity and FX sessions noticed the same pattern: retail crowds and institutional books frequently disagreed on timing even when they agreed on direction. Clients kept asking for that split as its own deliverable. The desk on Langsuan Road is the answer — a small team, limited weekly capacity, and briefings that stay close to the instruments named by the client.

How we work

We prepare comparisons by hand for a defined window. We do not flood inboxes with daily noise. Scope is locked before work starts. The analyst who writes the note is the same person who walks you through it. If a major print lands during the briefing day, we send a short addendum rather than pretending the morning note still holds every line.

Relationship with clients

Our clients already run charts, models, and risk limits. They come for a second reading of institutional versus retail posture — not for someone else to press the buy button. We are direct about what the comparison can and cannot say. Mild disagreement in the room is welcome; theatre is not.

Bangkok context

Thailand’s trading calendar, regional index futures, and the city’s mix of local and cross-border desks shape how we schedule walkthroughs and which sessions we prioritise. The office address is Level 8, 67 Langsuan Road, Bangkok 10330 — close enough to the city’s financial core for morning sittings without pretending we are a global bank research department.
